He was Resident Commissioner of Penang from 1948 to 1951. He was an internee at Changi and Sime Road during the Japanese occupation of Malaya and Singapore. ==Education== He was educated at The King's School, Chester and Queen's College, Oxford. Aston was a Colonial Administrator and had posted as the Resident Commissioner of Penang from 1948-1950 and 1950-1951. He was the World War I RFA Cadet Malayan Civil Service in 1919. He served in the Malayan Civil Service from 1919 until 1951.
